#IStandWithHer Award at the Women in Medicine Summit in Chicago

Dr. Art Pancioli, Chair of the UC Department of Emergency Medicine, received the #IStandWithHer Award at the Women in Medicine Summit in Chicago. It recognizes an individual who has made significant contributions to improve the careers of women physicians. This award is meant to honor those who recognize and fight to correct gender disparity.

In the fast-paced world of emergency medicine, the work is difficult. Even more so for those facing a lack of mentors, salary inequity, and limited paths to advancement - disparities all too common in our gender-biased culture. But it's a culture that Dr. Arthur Pancioli, Richard C. Levy Endowed Chair of Emergency Medicine, is working with relentless intention to change. Recently recognized ith the 2019 Women in Medicine #IStandWithHer award, Dr. Pancioli has powerful evidence of success: the growing number of women in UC Emergency medicine leadership positions and the female trainees who now rightly believe in their own futures.
